I'd only correct one misquote: in the middle of the second column, right next to my photo, I said "transistor," not "resistor." An understandable mistake, though not one I want any of my old Physics professors to see.

ReplyDeleteAs editor, I'd have reworked his lede -- there's nothing inconsistent with a science major also being an artist. But it's a good article and, having been on both sides of the interview, it's encouraging to see a story where the reporter caught on to the essentials of the story.

ReplyDeleteMike, I figure that's what college papers are for. I cringe in horror when I remember a few of the things I wrote that appeared in print. I thought this kid did well--of course, one reason he caught the essentials is I've learned to provide them.
