  1. Best. Blogpost. EVER.

Nothing more I can say except thank you, Brian.

  2. Being able to rhyme "Monomethylhydrazine" in Clement Clarke Moore meter would get a thumbs-up from Pete Conrad.

    Spectacular!

  3. The exception to the rule that "Night Before Christmas" riffs never work -- this truly rocks! (And Merry Christmas back attcha.)

  7. Thanks, Sherwood. And you're welcome! My pleasure (most fun I've had in a while).

Jim, I thought of you as I wrote "monomethylhydrazine." And your recent mention of Robert McCall's spacesuit designs inspired me to put Xandra in something similar, so thanks.

Mike, I always figured it was more a guideline than a rule...

Sligo Mike: I'm confident the sandworm will heal up just fine, probably in time for his New Year's bash.

Thanks, Sarah. I could've gone grosser (you should'a seen some earlier drafts) but I run a family-friendly blog. And, as all 3-year-olds know, everybody poops.

Thanks also, Namowal. I don't know if you'll think more or less of me if I tell you it took about two days: on Friday I wrote and pencilled, and on Saturday I inked and digitized (and rewrote). That's what I like about blogging: you can get an idea and make it happen fast. The art's pretty sketchy, but I choose to regard that as "charm."

  8. @Jim O'Kane: I was quite taken with diabolically/parabolically myself.

  9. What a great Christmas present! Thank you Brian - this must've taken you ages. I enjoyed ever verse, every frame.

Merry Christmas to the Family Fies and Happy Holidays to all the Fies Fans.

  10. Wow. How many of those rhymes have never been used in the entire history of the human race? "basalt/assault", "arsenious/genius", "diabolically/parabolically", and la pièce de résistance, "with a blast/vermicast".. Awesome.
