I am hopeful as well, but I need Shatner reciting the "tall ship" lines to DeForest Kelley, or something of that order for the new movie to be the TREK that I, the dear old fan, would know and love. Heck, I was ready for them to build the wheelchair accessible bridge or call the next TOS movie STAR TREK: THE ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY. I didn't care. It could be the original cast in line at the Rite Aid. Whatever.
Ah well.
I better go look at my "Adam and Eve" painting by Marc Chagall now, and trust the universe is unfolding as it should.
To the good, they brought back the mini-dress. On the other hand, the bridge needs an apple logo to complete the look. Actually, considering what was on the screens and readouts on TNG, I expect at least one of them probably does have an apple logo.

TREK is dead. Long live TREK.

If only ....
Hope is good, Brian, but the new bridge looks like they should be serving elaborately named coffee-based beverages.
So...the new Enterprise crew stops by the Apple Store?
I was impressed that the new bridge has a hostess station to take your dinner reservations. That's a full-service starship!
