Equilibrio Dificil

Very nice to wake up to on a Monday: the new Brazilian edition of "Mom's Cancer" is getting some press, which publisher DarkSide Books was kind enough to send me. I was going to write "good press" in that preceding sentence, but since I don't read Portuguese I don't actually know that. I may be mindlessly crowing about the worst reviews of my life. If so, please don't tell me.

I just read Mama is with Cancer, my name is Ygor Moretti, I live in São Paulo Brazil, I'm a fan of books and comics, the kind that while reading a book already thinks about the next and the next ... When I heard about the release of Mamãe has cancer, I monitored bookstores and websites to buy as soon as possible. This week the doctors called the family for a conversation, my mother is hospitalized, metastatic breast cancer in the bones, and now the liver and lung. Finish reading your book on the very same day that we received this news after 2 years of struggle. I am not convinced that it is the end, I have faith, hope and above. It is contradictory I know, but hope goes hand in hand with the facts we know, they are bad. I really enjoyed your work, the outline, the most common situations, the smallest details reminded me of each day each, visit to the doctor, each routine task. Thank you, your book will be a kind of album, regardless of what happens, to let us know that we are fighting and that we are not alone. Thank you again, may God also accompany you in all your steps.

A big hug from Ygor Moretti and I could also say from Nanci Moretti Pastorelli, my beloved mother.

Ygor, thank your for your very kind comment, and for taking the time to write it. It is one of the best reviews I have ever received. I am very sorry that Nanci and your family are going through this now. One of the most important messages I wanted readers to take from my book is that Hope is always good and worthwhile. Sometimes the thing you hope for has to change as the facts change, but it is always good to work toward, and hope for, the best.

I wish you and your family all the best. Thank you again for reading my book and letting me know.
