Proud Dad Warning. Here's a 48-minute podcast/interview with my daughter Laura in her role as the CEO of the USS Hornet Museum in Alameda, Calif. The "Call 'Em Like Museum" podcast looks to be a newish weekly show devoted to the challenges of running all sorts of museums, and this week host Eric Johnson looked at the Hornet.
As I told Laura after watching it, I was very impressed by how informative, composed and articulate she was for nearly an hour. Having sat through similar interviews myself, I know my brain turns to porridge after 20 minutes or so. I also thought Johnson was a good host who asked smart questions and listened to her answers (surprisingly rare).
As a parent, this was one of many times I've been reminded that my kids are full-grown independent adult professionals who have knowledge and experience I know nothing about. That's the goal, right?
